Since patients come to Reproductive Services for a variety of services, no one will know the purpose of your visit.

How safe is an abortion?

All possible risks and complications will be fully discussed with you before the procedure as we thoroughly review your health history and individual circumstances. Who will perform my abortion?
A licensed and experienced physician will perform the abortion, assisted by an able and well-trained staff. How long will the abortion take?
Patients are in the clinic for several hours in order to be processed for surgical or medical abortions. Actual surgery takes only a few minutes and most appointments are completed in one day. When your pregnancy is more advanced, another visit may be necessary on the following day to complete the procedure.

• A medical examination and sonogram (ultrasound) to determine the length of pregnancy.
• Counseling and education before and after the procedure.
• All routine laboratory work, including testing for Rh factor.
• Local anesthesia.
• 24 Hour on-call medical assistance after leaving the clinic.
• Post-abortion check-up.
• Post-abortion counseling if desired.
